Kara Skevis, MSW, LSW
Kara enjoys working with a wide range of individuals, including children 5 years old and up, teens/young adults, as well as adults. Kara earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Concordia University Wisconsin. She went on to receive her Master’s Degree from Lewis University. Kara currently holds an Illinois and Indiana Social Work license. Kara specializes in working with individuals who are struggling with or are experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions/adjustments, as well as grief and loss. Kara uses a strengths-based approach, striving to support her clients in feeling empowered. Kara also utilizes different techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Kara values the authenticity and complexity of what it means to be human, offering a space where clients can explore their feelings and experiences freely. Kara believes the best therapeutic outcomes result from a safe, relaxed, and compassionate environment! |
