Couples therapy works best when both people, even if unhappy or uncertain, are still willing to show up and do uncomfortable work. That’s a lower bar than most people expect….
Krista Caughey, MSW, LCSW, is the founder of Changing Tides Counseling, a therapy practice serving Indianapolis and the surrounding southside community from two locations. With 8 years in practice, Krista holds an active clinical social work license in the State of Indiana (#34009299A) and provides clinical supervision to apprentice therapists working toward licensure. Krista built Changing Tides around a simple belief: therapy works best when it doesn't feel clinical or intimidating. Her approach is warm, relaxed, and judgment-free — creating space for clients to show up as they are, whether that's individuals, couples, children age 5 and up, or teens. She draws on evidence-based methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused brief therapy, and person-centered approaches, tailored to each client's needs. Krista and the Changing Tides team specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship concerns, with a practice-wide commitment to LGBTQ+ affirming care. Changing Tides accepts Anthem, United Healthcare, and UMR, and offers both in-person and telehealth sessions across Indiana.
