Krista Caughey, MSW, LCSW
Krista specializes in anxiety, divorce/relationship concerns and young adult issues. Krista enjoys working with adults who are functioning well, but need extra support when life gets messy, unexpected events occur or anxiety becomes difficult to manage.
Krista holds a BA in Psychology and an MSW in Social Work from the University of Indianapolis. She has spent years working in child welfare, supporting children and families facing abuse, neglect, and other challenging circumstances. Her 20 plus year of experience in child welfare shaped her compassionate and trauma-informed approach to therapy, which she brings to her work with clients today. Krista loves working one-on-one with clients and utilizes a laid back, more relaxed approach in therapy. Krista believes therapy doesn't have to be a ridged or formal process. While therapy is deeply challenging work, it can also be rewarding, fun and can even involve humor at times. -Krista accepts Anthem and United Healthcare Insurance Want the inside scoop on your therapist? See how Krista answered these questions: Favorite Three Things: Family (my son especially), Dogs and True Crime/Court Tv. I also have three dogs (Monroe, Finn and Arlo) who take up much of my time and energy! I am always watching a new trial or listening to a podcast and drinking coffee! Travel or Staycation: Staying home is fun, but I absolutely love a great vacation. I am a huge fan of traveling and having new experiences. Although, I always find myself super anxious before a trip due to the anticipation of what's to come and I always think I have forgotten something when I leave for the airport! Summer or Winter: I'm definitely a warm weather person. If you become my client, you'll likely notice I am always wearing a jacket and in virtual sessions, I always have a blanket hidden below my desk. If you have seen that sweatshirt that says, "Cold 24:7," that's me. :) Active or Relaxing Weekend: Relaxing would most likely be my go-to. During the summer I do find myself doing more things like garage sales, outdoor events, time out with friends, but I love a good quiet weekend binge watching some Netflix show or catching up on my (guilty pleasure) Bravo shows. In the winter, I'm definitely at home more, staying warm. |
